WINERY
For many generations in our Cella Monte winery, wine has been made only from grapes grown on our own estate.
Initially our great-grandparents, then our grandparents with our aunt and uncle Pagliano worked to produce wine in an enormous cellar under the house cut out of the tuff stone. A hundred years ago, the quality of their products was already greatly admired.
In 1903 the Cavaliere Paolo Pagliano received a "Patent", i.e. the authorisation to decorate his wine bottles with the coat of arms of Mary Elizabeth of Saxony, Duchess of Genoa, as the "proof of her highest satisfaction with the quality of his wines, which have been supllied to her house in Stresa since 1879".
Now it is Elena and Giovanni Rava, graduate agronomists, who continue their grandfather's wine-making tradition in the Monferrato region. They are able to combine their technical knowledge and enthusiasm with the valuable experience of Arrigo Cencio in the cellar and uncle and aunt Pagliano in the vineyards. This creates a perfect synergy of modernity and tradition.
